You can't have a party without cake!

Yum Cake!
For a child, the birthday cake can often be the highlight of their party.  Some are creative and talented enough to make and decorate their own spectacular dessert for the big day while others may prefer to leave it to a more seasoned professional.  Cakes can be found anywhere, but we've tracked down a few locals that offer wonderful cakes sure to please your palette; beware, you might find it hard to cut into it in fear of ruining the creative masterpiece.

It's all about the cake, especially if you have one showcasing dinosaurs complete with trees and plants made out of green frosted cookies and crackers, and ground up oreos to resemble dirt!  Susan Hindinger, a local mom of a couple of youngsters started a cake business when her children were just babies.  She is a self taught passionate baker!  Susan focuses on delicious cakes, providing the freshest, high quality ingredients made from scratch!  Besides a beautiful presentation, her main objective is to make them taste wonderful.  Unless the American style of frosting is specifically requested, Susan works mainly with butter cream (French or Italian) and occasionally uses fondant for accents and decorative elements.  Susan can be reached at shindinger@tds.net for more complete information and details on her creations.
